[MUSIC] Fjer - Children (QN5 RMX) ft. Substantial & DJ JS-1 [Produced by Tonedeff]

Fresh off the release of the music videoTonedeff dons his producer cap to provide an exclusive “QN5 RMX” of Fjer’s “Children” single.

Tonedeff provides his "QN5 RMX" of "Children" - the first single from Fjer's forthcoming conceptual EP, Beautiful Home. Featuring a guest appearance by Maryland's Substantial and Rocksteady Crew's DJ JS-1, Tonedeff flips the restraint of the original track into a bombastic, sample-laden break-fest, with scratches and triumphant synth stabs layered over Fjer's wilting piano riff and wistful vocals.

Enlisting the additional talents of QN5’s Substantial and Rocksteady Crew’s DJ JS-1 to add even more flavor, Tonedeff flips the eerie restraint of the original track into a bombastic, sample-laden break-fest with cuts galore and triumphant synth stabs layered over the Danish singer/songwriter’s wilting piano riff and wistful vocals. This one’s definitely not to be missed.

“Children” is taken from Fjer’s forthcoming concept EP, Beautiful Homewhich you can pre-order right now via Bandcamp.

ABOUT THE OTHER GUYS:

Mighty Joe & Isaiah “Insanate” Mensah are the alternative hip hop group The Other Guys, and yes before you ask, their name predates the Will Ferrell movie. The two musicians are both cousins and hail from the Washington, DC area. The Other Guys began producing together back in 2006. They have produced for and worked with artist such as Homeboy SandmanSubstantial,Tanya MorganSadat X (Brand Nubian), yU, and Fresh Daily.

In 2012, The Other Guys walked away from panhandling beats to underground artist, and began releasing their own EPs independently. “The Other Album” which they released in 2012 was received with critical acclaim. Their Instrumental project “The Week EP” was rated as one of the Top 25 Instrumental Projects of 2013 by DEADENDHIPHOP.

Utilizing an eclectic assortment of samples, live drums, analog keyboards, and discussing “everyday man” issues, The Other Guys’ music is a testament to what hip-hop music used to be, as well as what it could be.

[MUSIC] Bop Alloy (Substantial & Marcus D) 'Waiting Room (Freestyle)

Peace World. New music from Bop Alloy...

RATE THIS SONG: http://www.djbooth.net/index/tracks/review/bop-alloy-waiting-room-freestyle/ While touring the U.S. this past spring, emcee Substantial and beatsmith Marcus D. managed to step into the studio together for the first time since releasing Another Day in the Life Of…, their sophomore album under the Bop Alloy banner. The result, making its world premiere on our front page, is a brand new freestyle titled Waiting Room. Behind the boards, Marcus creates an atmosphere that’s “part pimp, part doctor’s office waiting room circa early-‘70s.” Sub adapts his flow to the laid-back instrumental, reeling off agile, intricate bars without breaking a sweat. Waiting Room isn’t part of a larger set, but we’ll keep you posted on the underground twosome’s plans as further details emerge. - DJBooth.net Waiting Room Instrumental originally featured on 'Another Day in the Life of...". Peace World. In memory of Jun, here's my favorite song he produced, "Ordinary Joe" ft. Terry Callier. Such an awesome remake! Powerful message, with beautiful music. Jun's flute solo, gets me every time.

"Each little bird in the sky, is just a little bit freer than I."

Rest in Peace, brother. Thanks for the memories.
